Leona Lamberti Bruno

Leona Lamberti Bruno (nee O’Droniec), 92, died on Thursday, June 2, 2022. Born November 16, 1929, in Irvington, NJ, Leona resided with her family in Belleville, NJ, where she attended School #9 and Belleville High School. After marrying Armando Lamberti as a teen, Leona lived predominantly in North Arlington, NJ, until her death.

Leona lived a full life both through her career and even more so through her family. She loved her children and the nine grandchildren - Leona Cookson (nee Cedola), Renay Cedola, Valerie Cedola, Bruno Valente, Amanda Valente, Traci Valente Ciallella, Armando Lamberti, Paul Lamberti, and Mary Lamberti - they brought into her life. She further was blessed by her great grandchildren and recently by a great great grandchild. Leona worked many years as a skilled beautician and cosmetician and worked numerous years in sales and management of a thriving cosmetics/beauty supplies department. She enjoyed socializing  (partying), listening to music (although her singing was consistently off pitch), reading, keeping up with current events, conversing, sharing stories, and most of all, being there whenever one needed her.

Leona Lamberti Bruno is survived by her son, Dr. Armand Lamberti and daughter-in-law, Chantal Lamberti (nee Coupaud); brother, Leon O’Droniec, Jr.; sons-in-law Ronald Cedola and Salvatore Valente; and her nine grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchild. She is predeceased by parents Leon and Ida O’Droniec; husbands, Armando “Mendo” Lamberti and Joseph Bruno; daughters Linda Cedola (nee Lamberti) and Nancy Valente (nee Lamberti); and sister, Lorraine Grande (nee O’Droniec).

A wake for Leona will be held at Nazare Funeral Home, 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at Queen of Peace RC Church, 10 Franklin Place, North Arlington, NJ 07201 on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will be held at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union NJ immediately following the funeral Mass.
