Obituary of Marie McDonald

McDonald, Marie (nee Paterno), 92, died on Friday, March 27, 2020.  Mrs. McDonald was a lifelong resident of Lyndhurst and worked as a clerical worker for B'Altman in Rutherford for over 20 years.  She loved spending quality time with her family, having lunches at the Senior Center, playing cards with friends, and spending her summers at the Jersey Shore. She will be remembered by her witty humor and her fashion sense until the day she died.  Marie was predeceased by her devoted parents, Anthony and Catherine (nee Caggiano) Paterno, by her beloved husband, Carl McDonald, and by her dear sisters and brothers, Theresa Strafaci, Janet Rosa, and Vincent and Patrick Paterno.  She is survived by her loving daughters, Deborah Timpanaro and her husband, Jim and Sharon Sarro and her husband, Jim, by her cherished grandchildren, Joy and her husband, Paul, Jaclyn and her husband, Matt, Jordan, and Jamie, and by her great grandchildren, Jackson, Julian, Nico, and Riley.

Funeral services are private and were arranged under the direction of Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst NJ 07071.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  We invite you to express your condolences to the McDonald family on our Tribute Wall.
