Obituary of Bong Jae Chung

Chung, Bong Jae, 53, of Lyndhurst, died on Friday, February 12, 2021.  Mr. Chung was born in Daegu, South Korea and emigrated to the United States in 1994.  He has been a resident of Lyndhurst for over 3 years.  Bong Jae took great pride in his education and career path.  He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2004, earning his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.  Thereafter, he began his postdoctural work as a research scientist and assistant professor at various universities; Johns Hopkins University, UNC Chapel Hill, George Mason University, and most recently at Montclair State University where he was employed for the past three and a half years in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics.  Bong Jae is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, In Soon Yoo, by his father, Chung Haeun, by his brothers, Chung Yung Jae and Chung Hong Jae, by his sister, Chung Giljin, and by his best friends, Ashwin Vaidya and Choi Gouen.  He was predeceased by his mother, Koo Du Hwe and by his brother, Chung Young Jae.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from 2 PM - 4 PM.  A funeral service will begin at 3:30 PM.  Cremation will be private.  Please express your condolences to Bong Jae's family by using our Tribute Wall.
