Salmeri, Philip A. 98, died at home, surrounded by his loving family. Philip was born in and a life long resident of Lyndhurst, living in the house he helped build with his father. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving from 1944-1946. After the war, Philip was a tree climber and then rose to Supervisor of the Shade Tree Department of Teaneck DPW. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Salmeri (nee Barbieri) in September 2004. He is survived by his loving children, Frank and his husband Kevin Ward, Mary Reiner and her husband Bob, Philip and his wife Linda, and Mark and his wife Nancy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071 on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 4 - 8 PM, All will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 9AM, then to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lyndhurst where at 10AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment to follow, Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. You may express condolences to Philip's family by using our tribute wall.
