Salvatore A. Argila Obituary

Salvatore A. Argila, 98, of Staten Island, NY, died on Saturday, February 8, 2025.  Mr. Argila was born and raised in Staten Island before moving to NJ. He lived in Atlantic Highlands, Lyndhurst, and Clifton and then moved back to NY, first to Brooklyn where he lived for 10 years before returning to Staten Island for the past 20 years. Sal proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he entered the workforce. A mason by trade, Salvatore’s 45 year career with BAC Local 4 kept him strong and resilient throughout his life.  Beyond his career, he had a deep passion for the outdoors. Sal was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a proud founding member of the Valley Brook Rod and Gun Club in Lyndhurst, where he was able to share these interests with fellow enthusiasts.


Sal was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie Argila (nee Pignatore) in 1993 and by his dear sister, Joan Liametz. He is survived by his devoted children, Anthony “Tony” Argila and his wife, Deborah Corasio and Peter Argila and his wife, MaryBeth Sandiford and by his cherished grandchildren, Peter Argila and his wife, Kristina and Kaitlyn Argila and her husband, James. Also survived by his second wife, Theresa Guariglia, his step children, Debra Guariglia and Laurie Ann Cavosi and her husband, Drew and their son, EJ, and by his many nieces and nephews.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 4 – 8 PM.  All are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Friday, February 14 at 10 AM. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst.  You may express your condolences to Salvatore's family by using our tribute wall.
