So sorry to hear about the passing of Al. I first met him via Lightolier, where my mom, Jelena, first started working with Al in the Art/Graphics department 50 years ago, when I was 4 or 5. Through those years, I enjoyed getting to know everyone at Lightolier, who became friends, but also like family. During college, Al took me on as a part-timer at Lightolier, where I stayed until the company moved out of state. I will always value the memories [like lunches at Park & Orchard, that trip we all took to AC, our department Christmas parties] and the experiences I had working there, with Al the patient department dad. You will be missed, Al! Love, Ronnie

To say we go back a long way, it would be better to say our families and our shared history goes back a long way. My mother, Chris and Al's mom Ida were best friends and grew up next door to each other and both our families belonged to the Italian American Circle Club and were involved in many of their family activities. Although Al was a year younger we were Cub Scouts in the same Den and Ida was our Den Mother ! We both were students at Roosevelt and joined in all the activities that made growing up in Lyndhurst and our section of town "The Hook" so special. Al really found his calling when he discovered his special talent in the art field and was proud of all his accomplishments at Lightolier and later at Citi Bank. The only thing he was prouder of was his family. His beautiful wife Phyliss and his three children Bryan, Jeanine and Kristen. Al worked very hard to renovate the upper floor of his boyhood house into a home for his family. After his children grew up he shared in the joy of all his grandchildren. Al was a regular member of joining the boys for their numerous nights out. His friends will remember him for his companionship and his "corny" jokes. God Speed Al.
Pat and the boys.

Uncle Al, my Godfather had one best laughs I’ve ever heard. My favorite childhood memory is that I can’t remember one time he wasn’t smiling when I was around him. He was kind loving soul and will be missed xoxo Alison
