Michelle Rumore (nee Schaffer), 59, of Northfield, NJ, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Michelle was born and raised in Kearny, NJ, where she spent most of her life before moving to Northfield five years ago to be closer to the beach—her favorite place in the world.

Michelle led a life filled with passion and service. She was one of the first to work as an usher and ticket taker at the Meadowlands Arena and Giants Stadium. She also worked as a benefits manager for one of the local Teamsters, served as an EMT for University Hospital of Newark, and volunteered with the Kearny Ambulance Squad for many years. After retiring, Michelle and her husband, Michael, went on to run their own business, M & M Treasures.

The beach was always Michelle's happy place, and she cherished sharing her love of the ocean and the shore with her family and friends. Her presence will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Michelle is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Michael Rumore, and their daughter Lana Marie Rumore. She was a loving “Nanny” to Blake, Charlie, and Nicky and a devoted dog mama to all her beloved fur babies, especially her “Henry” and “Dakota.”

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Monday, March 31, 2025 beginning at 2PM-4 PM.  Funeral Service begins at 3:30PM.  Private cremation to follow.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Greater Mental Health of NY “Pros Program” or the ASPCA.  You may express condolences to Michelle’s family by using our tribute wall.
