Obituary of Chuck Zatkos
Anthony David "Chuck" Zatkos, 72, died on Friday, April 4, 2025. Mr. Zatkos was born and raised in Passaic, graduating from Pope Pius XII High School where he was an outstanding football player. He lived most of his life in Lyndhurst. Chuck, as everyone knew him by, grew up in and around the flower business. At a young age, he began working with his father at Bill's Florist in Passaic before proudly opening Flowers by Chuck in Lyndhurst in 1978. Chuck was a true master of his craft, designing floral arrangements for life's most joyous and trying times alike. He was a staple in the community for over 40 years and although he is no longer with us, his legacy will live on through his family and the business he has tirelessly created over decades of passion and hard work. Above all else, he was a dedicated family man who selflessly laid the foundation of a loving family.
Chuck was predeceased by his devoted parents, William and Antoinette (nee Zampacota) Zatkos and is survived by his beloved companion of over 20 years, Cecelia Harris, by his loving children, Anthony Zatkos, Jr. (Margaret), Daniel Zatkos, Nicholas Zatkos (ToniAnn), and Jennifer Bradstreet (Sam), by his cherished grandchildren, Angelina, Anthony III, Nicholas, Jr., Gianna, Christopher, Ava, Nicholas, Finneas, Atlas, and Evangeline, by his dear brothers, John Zatkos (Theresa) and William Zatkos, Jr. (Kathy), by his former wife, Dianna Zatkos (nee Scala), and by many nieces and nephews.
