Obituary of Olivia Scavone
Olivia Scavone, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 15, 1982, in Livingston and raised in Newark, she has lived in Wayne for the past 15 years. At 42 years old, she was taken too soon from her husband, children and family and her absence has left us heartbroken.
Olivia Scavone spent her life cherishing and loving those around her. She continually put the needs of her beloved family first. Her husband Michael was the love of her life and they have been married for 15 years. She deeply enjoyed raising her two children, Ava Grace and Nicholas Peter, and participating in their hobbies, sports and interests. The family especially loved vacationing at their home on Long Beach Island, affectionately referred to as Casa Playa.
Olivia loved everything beach, shopping, organizing, and coming up with new recipes. She spoiled her family with good food and amazing desserts. Her hobbies included decorating and working in her garden. She found immense joy in being surrounded by beautiful things. She loved her garden to be full of blooming flowers to welcome her friends and was always ready to share a slice of cake, drink and conversation with her family and friends.
Olivia treasured each and every moment with her children and took pride in their growth and accomplishments. She especially took pride in creating memories and traditions with them, such as Easter Egg Dying and Cookie Day during Christmas. She loved cheering on both Ava during her cheer competitions and Nicholas in his many sport endeavors.
Olivia obtained her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Caldwell College. Throughout her 20-year career she held various positions in the Human Resources department for Verizon.
Olivia is predeceased by her father, John T Cinardo Sr. in 2020. She is survived by her beloved husband of 15 years, Michael Scavone, by her cherished children Ava Grace and Nicholas Peter, by her dear mother, Marta Cinardo, by her brother, John Cinardo, Jr. and mother-in-law, Christine Scavone, and her best friend who was more like her sister, Heloisa "Heli" Santos. She is also survived by her God Mother Teresa, Aunt Donna, Uncle Mike, and many cousins, relatives, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Nazare Memorial Home. Then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst, where at 1:00 p.m. a Funeral mass will be offered. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
Olivia’s life was marked by love, happiness and resilience. Her children will carry on her kind heart, her generous spirit, knowing they were immensely loved and cherished.
