Obituary of Ronald W. Williams

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ronald W. Williams, 88, of Clifton, died on Thursday, May 22, 2025.  Mr. Williams was born and raised in Newark and moved to Harrison to raise his family with his first wife, the late Pat Williams.  He moved to Nutley in 1981 with his children and lived in Clifton for the past five and a half years.  Ronald dedicated much of his life to his trade, working as a skilled ironworker for Ironworkers Local 11 of Bloomfield for many years, retiring in 2005. His work ethic left a legacy of strength and perseverance. He also owned and operated Club Harrison, a neighborhood bar in Harrison where laughter, stories, and friendships were shared amongst its patrons.  An important milestone of Ronald's life was being a member of AA and proudly being 42 years sober.  He transformed his own struggles into a beacon of hope for others, mentoring countless others in their journeys throughout recovery and fostering a supportive community to help those in need any way he could.  He had a childlike enthusiasm for life and a mischievous nature about himself that those close to him loved dearly about him.

Ronald was predeceased by his first wife, Pat Williams (2017), by his son, Ronald Williams, Jr. (1996), and by his brother and sisters, Raymond Williams (1993), Linda Mae Williams (2002), and Carol Pastuszak (2017).  He is survived by his loving children, Lori Jefferson Williams and her husband, Ronnie, Gina Santos and her husband, Jack, Dawn Resende and her husband, Carlos, Michael Martelli and his wife, Kirsty, Dana Williams and her husband, Derek, and Shannon Williams, by his cherished grandchildren, Christopher Santos, Melissa Dasilva and her husband, Elias, Raquel Resende, and Manuel Resende, by his adored great grandchildren, Gabriella Dasilva and Violet Helton, by his dear sister, Annette Campbell, and by many nieces and nephews.
