Joseph A. Antenucci, 93, died on Saturday August 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving children. Joseph was born and raised in Jersey City. He met and married Elizabeth Gyurik and they lived in North Arlington and Lyndhurst , before moving to Point Pleasant, where he lived for many years. Joseph was an Army Veteran serving our country proudly during the Korean War from 1952 - 1954, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska during his tour of duty. He worked for ConRail as a conductor for many years, which is now known as NJ Transit, retiring in 1995. He was an avid Giants and Yankees fan, often heard saying “where is my hat," even on his last days, always wanting to be sure he was wearing his favorite baseball team’s hat. Joseph loved his family and was very proud of all his children and grandchildren and always wanted them nearby. “Sunday dinner” was a must, and his beautiful Elizabeth would prepare a sauce with all the trimmings and homemade lasagna rolls that was shared with family and friends alike. Every Sunday, joy and laughter, along with delicious aroma filled their home. These are the memories that fill our hearts, now hollowed from the loss of dad and we will miss him deeply.
Being the youngest in his family, Joseph was predeceased by all his brothers and sisters, also by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (nee Gyurik) in 2002 and his grandson, Alexander Patriarca in 2018. He is survived by his loving children, Michael Antenucci & his wife, Maria, Lucy Patriarca & her husband, Michael, Lisa Tatakis & her husband, Nick and Justin Antenucci-Fucetola & his husband, Paul, by his cherished grandchildren, Melanie, Alyssa, and Anthony, great grandson, Nico and by many nieces and nephews.
