Michael Crowell, 77, of Lyndhurst, died on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Michael lived in Nutley in his early childhood before moving to Lyndhurst where he lived most of his life. Mr. Crowell dedicated his life to education in Lyndhurst, first as a math and science teacher until 1995 when he became Vice Principal of Lyndhurst High School. His career spanned 36 years until he retired in 2008. He loved gardening, traveling to Aruba, which he called his "happy place," and most of all spending time with his "buddies," his grandchildren. Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Deborah Crowell (nee DiGiacomo), by their loving children, Michael John Crowell and his wife, Jaclyn and Melissa Toretti and her husband, Gianluca, by his cherished grandchildren who were the joys of his life, Luca and Marco, by his dear brother and sister Daniel and Carolyn Crowell, and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Donna Crowell in 2006.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 4 - 8 PM. All will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 16 at 9 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where a funeral mass will be offered at 10 AM.
