Carolann Waples (nee Carbone), 81, died on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. Carolann was born in Jersey City and lived most of her life in Lyndhurst before moving to Waldwick in 2023. After graduating from high school, she began working for Prudential Insurance Company followed by PSE&G. For over 20 years, she was the Deputy Tax Collector for the Township of Lyndhurst. A devoted and active member of St. Mary’s Church in Rutherford, Carolann's strong belief in faith was evident. She faithfully served the parish as a Eucharistic Minister and was also an Associate of the Sisters of St. Dominic. Her religious devotion showed how important prayer, service, and community was to her, and this commitment to her faith was a defining part of her life. She loved spending time with her family and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Carolann is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Francis Waples and by their loving children, Alicia Moeller and her husband, Ken and Nikki Waples-Stupienski and her husband, Glen. She was the adoring grandmother of Emma Moeller, Maeve Stupienski, and the late Ian Moeller (2003) and dear sister of Vera Greco, Lucy Erminio, Carl Carbone, Jr., the late Marie Cestaro (2011), the late Frank Carbone (2025), and the late Pat Erminio (1995). She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 1 - 5 PM. All will gather at the funeral home on Monday, December 29 at 9:15 AM then to St. Mary's Church, Rutherford where a funeral mass will be offered at 10:30 AM. Cremation will be private.
