JoAnn M. Wenz (nee Isgro), 82, died on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.  JoAnn was born in Hackensack and raised in Lyndhurst.  She met and married Albert Devereaux in 1968 and remained in her hometown to begin their family together.  After Al’s untimely death, JoAnn persevered and raised her children on her own with much love and support from her beloved parents, Joe and Nettie up the hill and her extended family throughout town.  She worked at Howmedica, East Rutherford as a part of inventory control for many years, retiring and moving to Pennsylvania for some time.  JoAnn returned to Rutherford after a few years and came full circle after living with her son Joseph in Florida, and then her daughter Ann Marie in Lyndhurst.  She was a recent resident of the Nutley Senior Center where she was fondly known and loved.  JoAnn was always checking in with her cousins throughout all stages of her life, ensuring they remain in contact even if it was just by making a phone call.  It can be said that JoAnn did not lead a glamorous life but always was happy and made us laugh.  We will miss her and her genuine care of us all.  JoAnn is predeceased by her beloved husband, Albert Devereaux in 1978, by her sister Kathy Johnson in 2019 and by her husband, Ed Wenz.  She is survived by her loving children, Joseph Devereaux & his wife, Cindy and Ann Marie Giunta & her husband, Mark, by her cherished grandchildren, Joseph A. and Anthony M. Devereaux, Mark Giunta and twins, Dana & Matthew Giunta, by her brother, Peter Isgro & his wife, Donna, by her brother-in-law, Hayden Johnson, by her nieces, Robyn and Shannon Isgro, and by many friends and family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home Inc, 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 9 AM – 10:45 AM.  Then to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lyndhurst where at 11AM, a funeral mass will be offered.  Interment to follow, Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst.  You may express condolences to JoAnn's family by using our tribute wall.
