Cindy Novotny Obituary

Cindy Novotny, 67, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.  Cindy grew up in Nutley where she lived for over 40 years.  She moved to Kearny in 2001 where she had lived since.  Cindy had many friends and was loved by so many people.  She enjoyed going to street fairs, visiting the casino, and crocheting.  Above all else, family was everything to Cindy.  She was predeceased by her devoted mother, Patricia Hollenbeck in 2001, by her sister and brother, Patricia Wauchek in 2023 and Mark Novotny in 2018, and by her boyfriend, Ray Polikowski in 2005.  Cindy is survived by her loving father, William Novotny, by her dear brothers and sisters, William Novotny, III and his wife, Brenda, Ralph Novotny and his wife, Yolanda, Donna Kiersted, and Alicia Hollenbeck, who spent much quality time together throughout their lives.  Cindy and Alicia would go on adventures, oftentimes to nowhere specific, but just enjoying being in each other's company.  Cindy is further survived by her siblings, Susan Parslow, Frank Parslow, Gregory Novotny, and Christopher Novotny, nieces and nephews, goddaughter, Crystal DiFrancesco and Joseph and Victor Piccininno, with whom she shared a very special bond, Dean, John, and Mike Wauchek, many more nieces and nephews, and by her lifelong friends, Cissy Gialanella and Ellen Goldman.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 4 - 7 PM.  A funeral service will begin at 6:30 PM.  Cremation will be held privately.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society online by clicking here.  You may express your condolences to Cindy's family by using our tribute wall.
