Rosemarie A. Giaquinto Obituary

Rosemarie Giaquinto, age 91, of Berlin, MD formerly of Seaford, DE passed peacefully on January 28, 2026.  She was born in Passaic, New Jersey and raised her family in Lyndhurst, NJ before retiring to Seaford.

Rosemarie married George Giaquinto in Oct. 1953 and they shared sixty-three years together until his death in 2016. They had four children, Philip, Rosanna, Georgette and George, Jr.

Rosemarie was a devoted wife, sister, Aunt, Mother Nanna and friend.  She was born in Passaic, New Jersey, daughter of Joseph and Teresa Catalano.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Brothers Philip Catalano (Jane), Frank Catalano (Terry), Joseph (Carol) Catalano, and sister Concetta Liptak.  She is survived by her sister Mildred Becker (Albert).

Rosemarie spent the last year residing at Catered Living of Ocean Pines where she enjoyed the company of new friends.  She was nicknamed the Songbird as she took the lead in music activities presented at the home.  She often would sing a song on the front porch with the ladies, and they would happily join in as they enjoyed the sunshine.  She was assisted by the staff and compassionate aides of Catered Living who took care of her like one of their own.

A woman of devoted faith she had a deep love for God and devotion to family and friends.   She recited prayers in Italian and taught them to her Grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Seaford where she enjoyed going on retreats, prayer group, singing in the choir and assisting as a Eucharist minister.

At a young age Rosemarie worked in her father’s Pizzeria. Later she worked at ITT in Nutley where she met her future husband, George.  She worked for Hoffman LaRoche for ten years before retiring.  Upon moving to Seaford she enjoyed part time jobs working until 70 years of age.

She is survived by her children Philip Giaquinto (Karen), Rosanna Nicoletos (George), Georgette Atkinson (Glenn) and George Giaquinto, Jr. (Maggie), grandchildren, Dominick, Lisa, Gina, Anthony, Nick, Jennifer, Matthew, Ping, and Shun, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
