Alexander R. Despotovich, 91, died on Saturday, February 28, 2026.  Mr. Despotovich was born and raised in Jersey City before moving to Lyndhurst in 1966 where he spent 50 years of his life.  He moved to Manahawkin in 2016.  Al worked as a supervisor at Star Glo in East Rutherford for many years, retiring in 1999.  He was an avid sports fan, especially of the New York Yankees and he belonged to the Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society of Mount Carmel Church, both of Lyndhurst.

Al was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie Despotovich (nee D'Amico) in 2016 and is survived by their loving children, David Despotovich and his wife, Patricia and Louise Zacche and her husband, Philip, by his cherished grandchildren, Michelle, Alex, Kim, Dana, and Kristen, and by nine adored great grandchildren and one on the way.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 9:30 - 10:45 AM. A funeral mass will be offered at St. Michael's Church, Lyndhurst at 11 AM.  Entombment, Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital online by clicking here.  You may express your condolences to Al's family by using our tribute wall.
