Francesca Zaza, (nee Giuffrida), 89, died on Sunday, June 7, 2026.  Francesca was born and raised in Misterbianco, province of Catania in Sicily, Italy.  From early on, Francesca was a kind woman, graciously welcoming family, friends, neighbors and strangers with her passion for cooking.  It was her expression of love to all, and as a result, she met her future husband, Gerardo Zaza, at the home of a mutual family friend.  They married shortly after and have lived in Lyndhurst together since 1968.  Francesca, “Zia Franca”/ “Nonna” was dedicated to her family and delighted in caring for them all.  Her kitchen is quiet now, yet all of us who love her, find comfort in recalling the joy she brought us, with a gentle spirit and a meal prepared with much love.  Francesca is survived by her beloved husband, Gerardo Zaza, by her loving sons, Dominic Zaza, Anthony Zaza & his wife, Denise and her cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Emerson, Camden and Lola.  She is also survived by her twin sister, Maria Failla, her brother, Frank and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, here in New Jersey and Italy.

 Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc. 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 6 - 8 PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 9 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a funeral mass will be offered.  Entombment to follow, Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Francesca memory to Caritas Italiana online by clicking here.   You may express condolences to Francesca’s family by using our tribute wall.
