Marie E. Diomede Obituary
Marie E. Diomede (nee Zamarra), 75, went Home to the Lord on Saturday, July 4, 2026. Marie was born in Passaic and lived her entire life in Lyndhurst. She was an industrious young woman and out of high school became a licensed beautician, during which time, she met her love, Edward Diomede. They dated and wed soon after. Marie worked as a hairdresser, until she and Eddie began their family together. As a faith filled servant of God, Marie lived her faith through service to others and from an early age, devoted herself to her husband, her children and grandchildren. She loved her bible and reading scripture from it, often sharing this sacred time and song with her grandchildren. A committed member of Metrochurch, Marie also enjoyed running the church’s Christian bookstore. She was an amazing cook and would always have prepared lunch and dinner for her family. We mourn the deep loss of Marie, “Mom” & “Grandma”, and rejoice in knowing she has been welcomed in the arms of her Savior.
Marie is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Eddie Diomede, by her loving children, Ed Diomede & his wife, Rachel, Anthony Diomede & his wife, Tara, Christina Diomede & her husband, Harold Vargas, and Jennifer Diomede & her husband, Andres Zuniga, by her cherished grandchildren, Adam, Duane, Angelina, Myles, Anthony, Gio, Leandro, Gabriel, and Camila, by her sister, Barbara Zamarra, and by her brother, Rocky Zamarra. Marie is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins and family members in Christ.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 4 PM – 8 PM.
