Obituary of Carmela G. Spada

Spada, Carmela G. (nee Giuffrida), 85, of Kearny, died on Saturday, March 17, 2018.  Mrs. Spada was born and raised in Catania, Sicily and moved to the United States in 1958 where she lived in Lyndhurst for 20 years.  She then moved to Kearny in 1979 where she has been a resident for the past 39 years.  Carmela worked as a seamstress for Larry Levine Co. in Passaic for 15 years, retiring in 1997.  She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Vincent Spada in 1986 and survived by their loving sons, Dominick Spada and his wife, Corinne, and Robert Spada, by her cherished granddaughter, Kristen Spada, and by her sisters and brothers, Maria Failla, Frances Zaza, and Frank and Salvatore Giuffrida.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ, on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 4 - 8 PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 21 at 9 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a funeral mass will be offered.  Entombment, Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.

DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, the funeral services for Carmela Spada have been changed.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 9:30 AM Wednesday morning then to Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
