Hammer, Harry R., 87, of Missouri, formerly of Lyndhurst, died on Sunday, April 1, 2012. Mr. Hammer was born in Jersey City, raised in North Arlington where he attended high school and was the pitcher for their baseball team. He went on to play with the semi pro baseball league in New Jersey. Harry lived in Lyndhurst for many years before moving to St. Louis, MO where he has been a resident since 1972. He worked in the Engineering Dept. of A.C.F. Industries in New York and St. Charles, MO for 38 years before he retired. He is predeceased by his wife, Mary (nee Mangano) Hammer in 1990. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Anne M. �Nancy� (nee Louprette) Hammer, dear step-father of Judy (Bill) Brink, Mary Beth (Mark) Fortney, Leo(Vanessa) Carty and the late Edward Carty, dear brother of Ronald Sims of North Carolina, Joan Lusk of Toms River and Virginia Mueller of North Arlington and the late Cliff Hammer as well as many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service held at the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Monday April 9, 2012 at 11AM. Interment Hillside Cemetery, Rutherford Avenue, Lyndhurst. Visiting Monday 10-11AM.
