Varalla, Irma (nee Rullo)"Mama", 98 died on Tuesday, July 23, 2012 at her home. Irma was born in Avellino, Atribaldi, Italy in 1913 and immigrated to the United States in 1929 where she was raised in Harrison, New Jersey and lived in Kearny for the remainder of her life. She was employed as a Seamstress at Sacred Heart School in Kearny and in many other capacities before retiring in 1983. Irma was a member of the Harrison Rosary Society and an active member in senior citizen organizations in Nutley, Belleville and North Arlington. She enjoyed traveling to visit friends and family in Italy and Australia. Irma was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony, her daughter, Terry Varalla-Lisbona and her granddaughter, Christine Lisbona-Dunich. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Vogt, granddaughters, Tracey Raab & her husband, Ben, Lynn Lisbona-Falcone & her husband, Jamie, and her grandson, Christopher Dunich. Adoring great- grandmother to Jack Dunich, Sophia and Daniel Raab, Reese and Chase Falcone. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and a cherished friend to Gerda, Angie, Jo and Irene. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Rullo. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Friday July 27, 2012 at 11AM. Interment Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst. Visiting hours Thursday 2-6PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Christine Lisbona-Dunich Scholarship fund, Totowa Education Association, 10 Crews Street, Totowa, New Jersey 07512.
