Gilvo L. Gialanella Obituary

Gialanella, Gil L. "Juvo", 73, of North Arlington, died on Monday, July 1, 2024 at home.  Gil was born in Newark and has lived most of his life in North Arlington.  He became a member of the Newark Police Department, making his way up the ranks, to become Homicide Detective and after 25 years of service, retired in 2000.  Gil loved his house plants and his Pittsburgh Steelers.  He loved to cook, especially for his family and friends and often would enjoy a cigar and scotch.  This sudden loss has left us in shock and deeply saddened.  "Juvo" 's genuine spirit, his good nature and presence will be missed deeply.  Gil is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Ann (nee Manago), by his loving son, Christopher Gialanella & his wife, Heather, by his cherished grandchildren, Adrianna, Olivia and Christopher, by his sister, Gloria Flanigan, by his brother-in-law, Salvatore Manago & his wife, Jacqueline, by his dear niece, Christina, by his nephew, Salvatore and his wife, Ashley Marie, and their daughter, Adrianna Marie, family, friends, "brothers in blue," and by his adored dog, Daisy Rose.
