Christie, Michael A. of Lyndhurst on Wednesday, February 8, 2007. Beloved husband of 63 years to Anna (nee Walczak) Christie. Loving father of Mary and Joseph Christie, & his wife, Mary. Grandfather of Susan Marshall, & her husband, Doug. He was born in Airdrie, Scotland, Lived in Hudson County for a few years before moving to Lyndhurst where he has been a resident for 55 years; died Wednesday February 8, 2007 in Hackensack Medical Center, Hackensack. He served in WWII Army in the United States Air Corp 1942-1943. He was Tool and Die Maker for the American Can Company, Jersey City for 35 years and a Machinist for the Bergen County Utility Authority, Little Ferry for 24 years. He was a member of and Vice-President of The United Steelworkers of America Local 6300. He organized and was past Commander of the John F. Kennedy American Legion Post 483. He was a member ans past Vice-Commander of the Barringer, Walker, & Lo Pinto American Legion Post 139, Lyndhurst. He served as Lyndhurst Veterans Alliance Commander. He was a past Vice-Commander of the Bergen County American Legion.He was a member and past Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 25, Kearny. He presided as Grand Marshall of the Kearny Memorial Day Parade. He was past State Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Department of New Jersey. He served as a member of the Lyndhurst Police Reserves. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc. 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Saturday February 10, 2007 at 8AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 9AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visiting Friday 2-4 & 7-9PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071
