Obituary of Michael M. Mele

Mele, Michael M. Jr. of Manahawkin died on Friday September 21, 2007. Mr. Mele was born in Newark, NJ, lived in Lyndhurst and Ogdensburg, then moved to Manahawkin in 2001. He worked for the New Jersey Department of Transportation, Electrical Division for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He then joined Dewberry-Goodkind, Inc. Engineering Company, Bloomfield as a Sr. Technician retiring in 2003 due to illness. He served in the Army and Air Force National Guard (1964-70). He was past president of the Wallkill Valley High School Booster Club, Hamburg. He was predeceased by his mother, the late Susie (nee Vessichelli) Mele. Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years Kathleen (nee Carey) Mele, his loving daughters, Suzanne Caporrino & her husband, Ted of Manahawkin, Catherine Ann Mele of Los Angeles, CA and Michele Mele of Lyndhurst, by his four grandchildren, Michael, Teddy, Matthew and Emily Caporrino who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his father, Michael M. Mele, Sr. and sister, Jean Mele. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Tuesday September 25. 2007 at 9 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visiting hours Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
