Violante, James E., 88, of Lyndhurst, died on Friday, January 21, 2011. Mr. Violante was a life long resident of Lyndhurst. He was an Army Veteran in WWII from 1942-1945 serving with the 29th Infantry division which was the first wave landing on Omaha Beach in Normandy on �D� day; also he was injured while fighting in The Battle of the Bulge. He worked as an Industrial Mechanic for many years for Staglow of East Rutherford, before retiring some 20 years ago. James is predeceased by his sister, RoseAnn Kutz and brother, Joseph Violante. He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen (nee Dursi) Violante, his loving children, Diane Violante of Wayne, James G. Violante of Little Egg Harbor and Gilbert Violante of FL, his dear grandchildren, John Bilinski & his wife, Desiree, Jesse J. Violante, Gilbert Violante and Peter A. Finocchio, by his great grandson, Matthew and his sister, Marie Brown. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service to be held at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 10 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting hours Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
