Obituary of Chester J. Szalankiewicz

Szalankiewicz, Chester J. (Pete) �Chet Sanky�, 75, died on Wednesday November 21, 2007. Mr. Szalankiewicz was born in Everson, PA, raised in Jersey City, and has been a resident of Lyndhurst since 1965. He was a Production Planner for Clayton Container, Harrison for 10 years, retiring in 1996. He was an Army Veteran who served in the Korean Conflict (1952-54). He was a member of Musicians Local 248, Paterson where he was an Accordion Player known as �Chet Sanky�. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, the late Irene (nee Goletz) Szalankiewicz (1996), his parents, the late John & Magdalena (nee Komanska) Szalankiewicz and sisters & brothers, the late Mary Muszynska, Agnes Napiorski, Clara Kowalewski, Jessie Bozik, Walter, Casimir, Victor and Edward Szalankiewicz. Chester is survived by his loving daughter, Lisa Ann Szalankiewicz of Lyndhurst, his dear sisters, Genevieve Fatla of Mt. Pleasant, PA and Loretta Brissette of Hoboken. He is also survived by brother in laws, Joseph Goletz of Chesterland, OH, Bernard Goletz of Punta Gorda, FL, and George Goletz & his wife, Chrissy of Broad Run, PA, and sister in law, Betty Goletz of Ruffsdale, PA, as well as many nieces, grand nieces & grand nephews, and great grand nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Saturday November 24, 2007 at 8AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 9 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visiting hours Friday 2-4 & 7-9PM.
