Tella, M.D., D.D.S., Luigi, 88, died Friday June 27, 2008. He was a resident of Rutherford for over 50 years. Dr. Tella was born in Sulmona, Italy. He graduated from the University of Rome, Italy, with both an M.D. and D.D.S. degree. After WWII, he served under the British Eighth Army as a medical doctor near the Italian-Yugoslavian border for a camp called �Auigot� which processed displaced persons from the concentration camps of Belsin, Dachua & Auschwitz to their new destination of Haifa, Israel. Dr. Tella was instrumental in forming this camp on the hill of St. Giusto in Trieste, Italy where he became medical director. After WWII, he received a scholarship from the Eastman Dental Clinic of Rochester N.Y. He then attended and graduated from N.Y.U. School of Dentistry in 1952 with a D.D.S. Degree. Dr. Tella established his dental practice in North Arlington some 35 years ago. His son, Joseph entered the practice 20 years ago. In addition to his practice, he served as Asst. Professor of Dental Pathology at F.D.U. College of Dentistry, Hackensack. Dr. Tella is survived by his beloved wife Angela (nee De Berardinis) of Rutherford, his loving children, Dr. Joseph Tella & his wife Maria, Alida Bohdan & her husband Michael. Also survived by three dear grandchildren, Joseph & Jennifer Tella, and Dimitry Bohdan. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Monday June 30, 2008 at 10AM. Then to Our Lady Queen of Peace, Church, North Arlington, where at 11AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visiting Sunday 2-6 PM.
