Obituary of Frank A. Pesile

FRANK A. PESILE, 73, born on October 19, 1935 in Lyndhurst, NJ, the son of the late Louis and Nancy Caraccia Pesile, died peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2009 in Charleston, South Carolina. Mr. Pesile graduated from Saint Peter�s College with a Bachelors Degree and a commission in the United States Army, and then earned a Masters Degree from Seton Hall University. He taught in the Clifton and Bloomfield, NJ public school systems for 34 years and was a member of the National Education Association and the New Jersey Retired Educators� Association. For 32 years, Mr. Pesile lived in West Milford, NJ where he raised his family and was very involved in the community. He coached PAL basketball, soccer and baseball teams. An active parishioner of Saint Joseph�s Catholic Church, he was a Eucharistic minister and Parish Council member. Along with his wife, he was deeply honored to serve as the Co-President of the New Jersey Naval Academy Parents Club. After retiring, he moved to Little River, SC where he was a member of River Hills Golf and Country Club and Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Despite his many health problems, Mr. Pesile remained a man of great faith and treasured his Roman Catholic religion. He was totally devoted to his family and was blessed with many wonderful friends. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 38 years, Darlene Plishka Pesile; two sons, who were the pride of his life, Lieutenant Commander Christopher Pesile, USN of Annapolis, MD and Jason Pesile of Jersey City, NJ; his daughter-in-law, Wendy Pesile and his three precious grandchildren, Katelyn, Samantha and Andrew Pesile, who brought him so much joy. He is also survived by two sisters, Camille Pabst (Ferd) of Monroe Township, NJ and Martha Hart (Thomas) of Columbus, NJ; brother-in-law, Gregory Plishka of Pompton Plains, NJ and many treasured aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 4pm � 9pm on Friday, March 6, 2009 at Nazare Memorial Home, 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 10 30 am on Saturday, March 7, 2009 in the chapel of Nazare Memorial Home with burial following in St. Michael�s Cemetery in South Hackensack, NJ. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to American Diabetes Association, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Kittrell Center, Suite 110, Columbia, SC 29204.
