Obituary of James A. Volpe

Volpe, James A., 84, died Saturday May 16, 2009 in his residence. Mr. Volpe was born and raised in Jersey City, lived in Lyndhurst since 1965, and has been a resident of New Port Richey, Fla since 2005. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, serving on board the USS Spikefish Submarine. He worked as an Electrician and a member of the IBEW #164, Paramus for 20 years before retiring in 1990 at the age of 65. He also was a member of VFW post #3484, Saddle Brook. Mr. Volpe is predeceased by his beloved wife Ann S. Volpe (nee Cappola) in March 2000. James is survived by his loving children, Jo Ann Volpe of New Port Richey, Fl, Doreen Serra of Saddle Brook, James Volpe Jr., Brookport, Pa, John Volpe of Haskill, and Mary Beth Ippolito of Wood Ridge, his ten grandchildren, six great grandsons, and his sisters, Frances Ferruli, Nancy Quatrocchi, and Barbara Liquori. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral from the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Thursday May 21, 2009 at 9:30AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where The Liturgy of the Word will be offered at 10:30AM. Entombment Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 20 Mercer Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
