Brucato, Samuel L., 82, of East Rutherford died peacefully at his home on Thursday June 25, 2009. Mr. Brucato was born in Lakewood and was a life long resident of Lyndhurst, Rutherford and more recently East Rutherford. He was an Army Veteran serving in WWII 1944- 1946. Sam�s passion was his love of cars, trucks, boats and cranes. As a member of International Operating Engineers Local 825, for over 45 years he contributed to the building of many important structures and mentored young operators. To his last days, Sam followed the stories of construction through the careers of sons, Sam Jr., and Wayne, also I.O.E. Crane Operators. Even his father was a Crane Operator who was sadly killed at age 50 in a construction accident. Profoundly mourning his passing are his wife Lois (nee Guhl) Brucato whose unending energies ensured Sam�s well being, his sons, Samuel L. Brucato Jr., his wife, Susan of North Plainfield, Wayne Brucato and his partner, Rosemary Hochenberg of East Rutherford. Sam also leaves behind four grandchildren, Scott, Ryan, Jeffrey and Michele, and three great-grandchildren to complete his legacy. Also survived by his sister, Catherine Kitty Matarazzo. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service held at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Monday June 29, 2009 at 9:30 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting hours Sunday 7-9 PM.
