Obituary of Bridget Catherine Firko

Bridget Firko (nee Murphy), 97, of Glen Burnie, passed away at home on April 21, 2018. She was born in the little town of Ennis, County Clare, Ireland on March 16, 1921. She worked in Dublin for a number of years before moving to London, England, where she met John Firko, a U.S. Air Force enlisted man and World War II veteran. They were married in 1959 and traveled the world together. After John retired from active duty in 1973, they resided in Bergen County, New Jersey until 1998 when they moved to Glen Burnie, Maryland. Bridget was active at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was a volunteer with Partners In Care for many years. She loved cooking, baking, gardening and laughing. Bridget is survived by her husband, John; son, Steve Firko and daughter-in-law, Donna Gulick.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road , Lyndhurst on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 6 - 8 PM .  All will gather at the funeral home on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 9AM .  Funeral service 10AM .  Interment to follow, Holy Cross Cemetery , North Arlington .
