Valvano, Margaret M. “Peggy” (nee Carney), 81, of Lyndhurst, died on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. Mrs. Valvano was a life long resident of Lyndhurst.  She was a Teacher for 5 years working St. Anne’s, of Newark and Jefferson School of Lyndhurst. She then was a Clerk for Reckitt Benckiser Co., Parsippany for 20 years, retiring in 2002.  She was a life long Girl Scout as well as a Leader and a member of the Lyndhurst Historical Society, She was a volunteer for the river clean ups in the local area and a member of the Hackensack Canoeing Club. Peggy is survived by her beloved children, Sharon Valvano and Thomas A. Valvano and his wife, Donna, by her dear grandchildren, Tommy, Stephanie, Alyssa and Daren, by her sisters, Joan Zarillo and her husband, Patrick and Catherine Lapenter and by many nieces and nephews.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071 on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 4 – 8 PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 27th at 9 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a funeral mass will be offered.  Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
