Obituary of Irene Zisimos

Zisimos, Irene (nee Bonos), 93, of Toms River, died on Friday, January 11, 2019.  Mrs. Zisimos was born in Brooklyn, NY, lived in Yonkers for 30 years, and was a resident of Toms River for 25 years.  She worked for ShopRite of Toms River as a demonstrator for 15 years, retiring in 2002.  She loved cooking for her family, going to the beach, shopping at garage sales and flea markets, and most of all spoiling her grandsons.  Irene is predeceased by her beloved husband and World War II Army Veteran, Gregory Zisimos in 1989, and survived by their loving daughters, Barbara Woolis and her husband, Art and Margaret Cinelli and her husband, Mike, by her cherished grandsons, William Woolis and his wife, Lori, Christopher Woolis and his wife, Christa, and Dr. Michael Cinelli and his fiancé, Jane Wong, by her dear great grandchildren, Dean, Ava, Chloe, Anthony, Peter, and the late John Woolis, and by her sister and brother, Annamaria Angelopolous and the late Anthony Bonos.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 4 – 8 PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, January 17 at 9:30 AM then to Saints Nicholas, Constantine, and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 80 Laurel Avenue, Roseland, NJ where at 11 AM a funeral mass will be offered.  Interment, Mount Olivet Cemtery, 6540 Grand Avenue, Flushing, NY.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Irene’s memory to Children’s Specialized Hospital, 200 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
