Obituary of Eugene Di Santo, Sr.

Di Santo, Sr., Eugene,"Red", 97, of Lyndhurst, died on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at home.  Mr. Di Santo was born in New York City and was a resident of Lyndhurst for 90 years.  Red proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1940 - 1946 and was a member of the Tin Can Sailors, the name of The National Association of Destroyer Veterans in the United States.  After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he became Vice President of the Teamsters Local 478 in Union, NJ where he worked for 35 years.  Eugene is predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Rose Di Santo (nee Aquino) in December 2015 and by his grandson, Jesse Di Santo in 2004 and survived by his loving children, Louise La Rosa, Eugene Di Santo, Jr. and his wife, Nina, and Tina Miragliotta, by his cherished grandchildren, Eugene T. Di Santo, Michael and Gina La Rosa, and Travis Miragliotta, and by his dear great grandchildren, Leonardo Jo and Micco Gene La Rosa.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 4 - 8 PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Monday, September 23 at 9 AM.  A funeral service will begin at 10 AM.  Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst.
