Our hearts are devastated. You were a special person and made a great impact on our daughter as her basketball coach. It took her more than three years but this year she finally understood how to do a layup correctly. She loved when you praised her smooth jump shots. Thank you for being such an important figure for her. Our gym will never be the same. Joe, this is Rob, I will miss you and may have to go now and get me some orange crocs. Hope you are watching your girls from above when they play. They will play for you. To Patty and Mr P you will remain in our prayers and thoughts and we will pray for your strength.

Throughout Bergen County Joe was a Prince in all of our gymnasiums.
If you only met him once, you were now instantly friends and he NEVER forgot your name. Like any Coach, Joe like to get a W every time but he was most proud of how his players loved the game and always tried regardless of the outcome. Joe looked forward to visiting every gym and getting the chance to catch up with everyone. You could always catch him sitting in the corner of the gym waiting to talk about basketball and sitting by his side was he’s DAD. I will miss our 1:30 AM calls while I drive home on Rt. 21 and talking shop… Just for you Joe, I think I will buy my first pair of crocs. God has called you home too soon but your spirit will live forever in our hearts and our gymnasiums. I will leave a chair open for you at St. Leo’s… TC
