Sadie and I met by chance when she was about 93 years old walking with her cart on Valley Brook ave in the rain. She needed to get to the Eye Dr by Burger King. I offered to drive her. She politely refused. I don’t blame you, you don’t know me, b ut my grandfather had a barber shop up the street, Liberti’s barbershop, She stoped and said she had dated my uncle Ben in high school , she still refused the ride, I felt bad but Sadie was very focused on walking. about 1/2 hour later It started pouring so I drove to the Dr office and waited for her to finish and asked her to please let me drive you home, she agreed, we loaded up her cart and I drove her home... the start of our friendship. I learned so much about her dignity, kindness, love & dedication of her family. I was amazed at how skilled a seamstress she was, so independent and trusting. I felt quite protective of her. We’ve shared laughs and tears and I came to love her a lot, amazed at how she was ahead of her times in the work force and opportunities given to her as a woman in a mans world back then. Born on Good Friday.... I will truly miss her. My dear sweet friend taught me a lifetime of lessons.

Sadie was my friend and neighbor. When I would take a walk, I remember her sitting in the side porch of her home. She would always wave and smile. When speaking with her she was always positive and so sweet. She was a real friend. I remember visiting with her inside her home and everything was so lovingly placed and she gifted me with a beautiful scarf that she made. She was someone I will always admire. God Bless Sadie and now she is with all of the family she missed so much. I will still look at that side porch every time I walk by and miss her. Rosemary Bua

Aunt Sadie will always be remembered for her devotion to the family, especially her parents, brothers and sister. I will always cherish the many fond memories of our Sunday visits to see everyone in Lyndhurst.
