Was just informed of the very sad news of John's passing. He was the nicest guy in town. Top rate service and you knew he could get the job done right. Always an enjoyable day at the car shows and cruise nights sharing stories. I'm glad to have known him and will keep the great memories.

So sorry for your loss. I knew the family we all grew up here in Lyndhurst. My father loved John and his father, the cars were always taken to Plaid. It was a family within a town of very close friends and family - that was the Lyndhurst I remember. John was always there to help, never said no and would make you feel like the only customer. He will be missed.

I am extremely saddened and my heart is heavy. My deepest condolences to John's family and staff at Plaid Motors. I first met John and introduced myself that I went to school with his brother Frank who recently passed in December. I brought my stand up mixer to him asking if he would paint it as it had chips of paint on it and I needed to make my chocolate chip cookies. Afterwards, I made my chocolate chip cookies. When I gave them to John he said he would share them. In November 2019, my car was hit and run. I went to John who was concerned about my husband and I that he immediately arranged a rental car for me due to my husband's health. John was concerned that my car was in the shop longer due to the inability to get the parts for my car. John gave me a valuable lesson / education, "Never ever take pictures of your cars damage and send it to the insurance company:"Again, I dropped off my chocolate chip cookies and told me that "He wasn't going to share". Shortly before Christmas I stopped by to drop off my homemade chocolate candies. John smiled at me and said, "Now, what did you do". I will always hold dear to my heart his compassion, kindness and always putting people first. God Bless you and Fly high with the Angels.

Hilda & family,
Words can’t express how sorry I am for yet another loss within your family. Memories of growing up with the Monaco’s (among others) in the fire department community always fills me with great happiness. We were together for so many events, & although our paths went in different directions, the bond we shared will never be forgotten!
My deepest sympathy is with the entire Monaco Family during this difficult time. R.I.P. John.

John and family - I was so terribly saddened to hear of Johnny's passing, I've known Johnny for the past 26 years through work and all the cars we would bring him to fix. The minute he would see the caller id he would say "what did you do now you pain in the @**"! and i always replied gotta keep you busy old man (in a very loving way). He was the most sincere, caring and honest person I knew and would totally tell you how it was, never beat around the bush for anything! I will miss calling the shop and hearing him say "yelloplaid" You were taken away to soon, you still needed to bust more chops down here, but one thing is for sure the best angels definitely took one of the very best!!!
We will forever miss you Johnny, may you rest in eternal peace and comfort...
Love you always Yamile and Patrick Proctor.

John will always be my brother, and was a trusted friend. My father once told us you can count your true friends on one hand. John will always be on that “ hand”! We knew each other our entire lives and as we all know, not everyone will remain close to one another through life’s changes. John however remained close to me and my family. I can not remember him ever saying a bad thing about any of us or anyone, and instead he would just move on from a disagreement or make light of tough moment. John has always been a positive part of my life. He was never jealous of anything anyone had and happy for everyone no matter what, even if it appeared they had more. We all lost a special person in our lives who was way too young for any of us to say goodbye to right now. My heart is broken, however I will always have happiness that John was part of my life, and will be for eternity!
