Obituary of Thomas V Selesky, Jr.

Thomas Vincent Selesky, Jr., 71, died on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.  He was born and raised in Hoboken, lived in Rutherford, Wharton, and New Milford, and was a current resident of Saddle Brook. Thomas proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He worked as a Central Office Technician for Verizon for 29 years before retiring. Thomas was passionate about being a member of the IBEW local union 827. After retirement, he continued to work as a security guard for Picatinny Arsenal and Tilcon and also as a train driver at the Turtle Back Zoo. He was a Post Commander of the VFW in Rutherford for many years and also served as a Rutherford EMT.  Thomas enjoyed photography, camping, fishing, traveling, going to Maine, fighting for union rights, ham radios, and talking about his Vietnam days where he was proud to serve in the 25th Infantry.  He is predeceased by his devoted parents, Thomas Sr. and Elizabeth Selesky (nee Sonntag) and by his brother, Edward Selesky and by his niece Stacey Moylan. He is survived by his loving daughter, Megan Rizzuto and her husband, Anthony, by his pride and joy granddaughter, Gianna Rizzuto, by his sister, Barbara Mellott and her husband, Bill, by his sister-in-law, Mary Selesky, by his 7 nieces and nephews, by his longtime companion, Lynn Hudyma, and many other friends.
