Obituary of Cruz Suarez

Suarez, Cruz “Dorita” (nee Marin), 86, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.  Mrs. Suarez was born and raised in Camaguay, Cuba and moved to the United States in her early 20s.  She settled in the Ironbound section of Newark where she was a resident for over 50 years before moving to Lyndhurst for the past 2 years.  “Dorita” was a supervisor for Blonder and Tongue Electronics in Newark and Old Bridge for 20 years before opening her own beauty parlor, Cruz Unisex in Newark, retiring in 2000.  Cruz was a talented seamstress and was an extremely generous and giving person, selflessly caring for her family and friends here and in Cuba.  She is survived by her loving children, Gene Suarez and his wife, Terri and Richard Suarez and his wife, Teresa (nee Pontoriero), by her cherished grandchildren, Alyssa, Jennifer, and Richard, by her great grandchildren, Autumn and Rayne, by her close friend, Ana Bolanos, and by many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her brothers and sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Monday, October 12, 2020 from 4 – 8 PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 13 at 9 AM where a funeral service will be held at 10 AM.  Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
