Obituary of Jose Menendez

Menendez, Jose, 87, of Secaucus, died on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.  Mr. Menendez was born and raised in Havana, Cuba before moving to Spain in 1960 where he lived for two years.  He moved to the United States in 1963, settling in Queens, NY where he lived for 20 years and where he started his own business.  Jose eventually relocated to Secaucus in 1983 where he was a resident since.  He worked as an accountant at his business, Menendez Associates in Queens, NY for many years, retiring in 2016.  In his spare time, Jose enjoyed going on walks, spending time with his grandchildren and enjoying a glass of wine with good friends and family. He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Carmen Menendez in 2015 and by his sister, Elia Menendez.  Jose is survived by his loving children, Susan Soldiviero and her husband, Luciano and Christine Ruggiero and her husband, Jeffrey, by his cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Aidan, Matthew, Ryan, and Julia, and by his dear sister, Luisa Cao.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 4 - 8 PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Saturday, February 13 at 10:30 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 11:30 AM a funeral mass will be offered.  Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jose's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online by clicking here.
