Obituary of Rose L. Motisi

Please share a memory of Rose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Rose L. (Ristaino) Motisi, 97, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021. Born in Jersey City, NJ, Rose had been a resident of Lyndhurst, NJ for 62 years.  She resided in Clifton with her daughter for the past 8 years.

After fourteen years of service with Western Electric, Rose resigned to join her husband at Otis Graphics, Inc. as Vice-President and Secretary, where she remained until her retirement. She spent much of her retirement in Delray Beach, Florida as a resident of Gleneagles Country Club.  Rose was a member of Sacred Heart Rosary Society and was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus and a member of Lyndhurst Emblem Club for 53 years. She was also a member of the Italian-American Club in Delray Beach, FL.

Rose was a loving and generous matriarch of her family. Throughout her life she nurtured and supported others in myriad ways, but was perhaps best known for her talent in the kitchen where she created meals that always delighted the palate and warmed the heart. She held herself to the highest standards, yet accepted others for whom they were without judgement. Rose had deep, genuine concern for people and thoughtfully helped those in need throughout her life.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph M. Motisi and her son, Captain James A. Motisi, USMC. She is survived by her loving daughter, Patricia Motisi, her granddaughter, Gina Limbrick, her grandson, Dr. Joseph M. Kist and his wife, Dr. Stefanie Davidson, her grandson, Ronald J. Kist, Jr., her grandson, James Massey and his wife, Barrie, and her granddaughter, Ann Garnett Arendt and her husband, Kevin. Also survived by her great grandchildren, Christopher Limbrick, Natalie Kist, Elizabeth and Mollie Massey, and Callie and Georgia Arendt. She is also survived by her dear daughter-in-law, Betty and her husband, A. Blanton Massey.
