Obituary of Marie Despotovich

Despotovich, Marie (nee Romano), 81, of Lyndhurst, died on Tuesday, April 13, 2021.  Mrs. Despotovich was born in Hoboken, raised in Bayonne, lived in Jersey City before moving to Lyndhurst in 1969. Marie was a customer service representative for Matheson Gas Products, East Rutherford for over 25 years, retiring in 2001.  She was a member of the American Legion Post # 139 Ladies Auxiliary of Lyndhurst. She enjoyed, trips to Atlantic City, cruises with her husband, the  New York Yankees, bowling and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.  Marie is predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Eric Despotovich in May 2020. She is survived by their loving children, Eric J. Despotovich and his wife, Deborah, Linda Evanik and her husband, Robert J., and Diana Joseph and her husband, John M., by her cherished grandchildren, Danielle P. Bilardo and her husband, Michael, Eric V. Despotovich and his wife, Carrie, Jenna M. Despotovich, Robert J. and Alyssa M. Evanik, and Christina M. and John E. Joseph and by her dear great grandson, Mikey Bilardo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM.  Then to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lyndhurst where at 11 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered.  Entombment, Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington.  In lieu of flowers, Marie's family requests donations be made in her memory to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
