Obituary of Frances Lewin

Frances "Chickie" Lewin (nee Piekinski) passed away on October 31, 2021 in Boonton, NJ. She was 86.

Frances was born in 1935 in Jersey City and graduated William Dickenson High School. She began print modeling in her early 20’s and was both a Breck Girl, and a Rheingold Girl. She moved to Lakewood to raise her children and worked at the Lakewood Township Police Department as a Special Officer. Frances later moved to Lyndhurst and worked at Viking Publishing until she retired to care for her mother.

Frances loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild whom she adored. She enjoyed horror movies and was an avid reader. She was gentle soul who was very artistic, loved music, and sweets.

Frances was pre-deceased by her parents, Mildred and Joseph Piekinski, and her daughter, JoAnna DeLorenzo. She is survived by her son Keith Lewin (Joni), son-in-law David Murnock, grandchildren Rachel DeLorenzo (Carlos Moran), Celia Murnock, Marielle Davey (Ryan), David Murnock, Daniel Murnock, Nina Lewin, and great-granddaughter Eva Moran. She is also survived by her Aunt Charlotte Matarazzo and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass offered for Frances at Saint Michael’s RC Church in Lyndhurst on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
