Obituary of John C. Ruggier

John C. Ruggier, lifelong resident of Lyndhurst, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. John is the beloved husband of Rosemary Ruggier nee Chiarella, the loving Father of John J. Ruggier and his wife Michele (deceased), Sam Ruggier and his wife Karen, Rosemary Marranzino and her husband Paul.

John is the son of John J. and Lucy Ruggier. He is survived by his three sisters, Mary Jane Puy, Barbara Ruby and Mildred Carlascio.

John was a loving gentleman and a proud grandfather of nine grandchildren; Stephanie, Paul, Ava, Johnna, Sophia, Anthony, Nicholas, Samuel and Julia.

John was a true family man who always put his family before himself. John loved spending time with his grandchildren and nothing made him happier than seeing his family together on holidays and special occasions. John especially loved spending summers with his family at the Jersey Shore.

John was a true car enthusiast; he started working on cars at a very young age at Enfield’s Auto Body in East Rutherford, N.J. He never minded spending late nights in the garage working on his 1955 Chevy and many other projects.

John’s interest in cars served him well throughout his career. He started working for Allstate Insurance in the late 60s as a Claim Adjuster. He held many positions within Allstate for over 30 years and retired at age 57 as a Property Claim Manager.

John will be forever in our hearts and sorely missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 3 - 7 PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Saturday, February 26 at 9 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a funeral mass will be offered.  Entobment, Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online by clicking here.  You may express your condolences to John's family by using our tribute wall.
