Obituary of Vincenzo V. Geramita

Geramita, Vincenzo V. "Jimmy”, 100, died on Monday, August 8, 2022.  Mr. Geramita was born and raised in Brooklyn , NY, moving to Lyndhurst in 1942, where he has lived ever since.  Vincenzo was a WWII veteran serving under Patton’s 3^rd Army 94^th division for 2 ½ years.  He received the Bronze Star and was a member of French Legion of Honor.  He was a machinist for Leslie Co for over 28 years retiring in 1984. Jimmy was a member of the Italian American Club, Mount Carmel Seniors, and AARP # 4866 all of Lyndhurst.  He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Fernanda (nee Martini) in 1996.  He is survived by his wife, Theresa (nee Carucci) Geramita, by his loving children, Rosemarie Zaplinski, Frank Geramita, Donald Geramita & his wife, Roksolana by his dear grandchildren, Samantha, Victoria, Veronica, Alexander and Christian and by his great grandchildren, Charlotte and Hailey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 10am.  Funeral service begins at 11:30am.  Entombment to follow, Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Vincenzo’s memory to Disabled American Veterans by clicking here.  Please express condolences to Vincenzo’s family by using our tribute wall.
