Obituary of Helen P. Lembo

Helen Patricia Lembo (nee Leyden), 90, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.  Born in West New York, NJ to Edwin and Virginia Leyden, she moved to Lyndhurst in 1953 when she married her husband, the love of her life, Phil Lembo.  Married 69 years, they had 6 children, Virginia "Ginny" Lembo, Maryann Durante, Roseanne Pezzolla (Frank), Maureen Lembo, Philip Lembo (LeeAnn) and John Lembo.  She is also survived by her adored grandchildren, Frank and Philip Pezzolla, Matthew Durante, Chris, Samantha and Jason Lembo, Alana Lembo, Anthony, John and Gianna Lembo, and by many nieces and nephews.  Helen is predeceased by all of her siblings, Mickey, Patricia, Donald, Frank, John, Jimmy, and Patrick.  As a proud Irish woman, Helen was a woman of great faith, a fan of the Jets and Yankees, and of course, Frank Sinatra.  She had an incredible positive attitude and zest for life.  Anyone who knew her loved her.  Her presence and smile will be sorely missed.  The family would like to express their gratitude to VHS Hospice Care and her caretaker, Laura.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 3 - 7 PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Friday, September 16 at 9 AM then to St. Mary's Church, Rutherford where at 10:30 AM a funeral mass will be offered.  Interment, Holy Cross, Cemetery, North Arlington.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Helen's memory to Catholic Relief Services, P.O.
