Obituary of Joan M. Descalzi

Descalzi, Joan M. (nee Finale), 88, died on Sunday, October 23, 2022.  Joan was born in Union City and has been a resident of Lyndhurst and Secaucus most of her life.  She worked as a purchasing agent for the Meadowlands Hospital in Secaucus for 30 years before she retired.  Joan was known to have a good hand at BlackJack and loved her trips to Atlantic City to gamble.  She was a JETS season ticket holder for 32 years and a huge fan .  She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis M. Descalzi in 2004 and her son, Louis G. Descalzi in 2005.  Joan is survived by her loving sons, Stephen Descalzi & his wife, Dana and Paul Descalzi & his wife, Toni, by her dear grandchildren, Noel Fiorentinos (Nick), Devon Flores (Samuel), John Descalzi(Liane), Daniel Descalzi (Patricia),Tara, Mark and Luke Descalzi and by her great grandchildren, Vaida, Nick, Emma, Mia, Ty & Maria

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc. 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 6 to 8PM.  All will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 9:30am, then to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lyndhurst where at 10:30am, a funeral mass will be offered.  Entombment to follow, Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.  Please use our tribute wall to express condolences to Joan's family.
