Palma Marrone

Obituary of Palma F. Marrone

Please share a memory of Palma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Palma Marrone, 83, of Livingston, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 after a long illness.  Palma was born on April 2, 1939 to Salvatore and Bernarda Longobardi in Brooklyn, NY.  She moved to Jersey City when she was eight years old, but she never forgot her Brooklyn roots (and never lost her accent).  Despite her fading memory, Palma fondly recalled the story of spending all her money (including train fare) at Coney Island and having to walk home with her friends.

Palma married George Marrone in 1962 and moved to Rutherford to raise her family.  She spent her final years with her family in Livingston participating in day to day family life, going on vacation and day trips, and walking the dog.

Palma was predeceased by her son, Vincent and her husband, George.  She is survived by her daughters, Donna DiTonto and Dorian Gemellaro and sons-in-law, David and Michael and her grandchildren, Giana, Vincent, Alessia, and Nicholas.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on January 6th, 2023 from 11am to 1pm as the Funeral Service will begin.  Entombment, Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
