Dr. Jorge Arenas Luna, 93, of Lyndhurst, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Jorge was born in Batangas, Philippines to Maximino Borbon Luna, Sr. and Felicidad Arenas Luna. He moved to the United States in 1966 and has been a resident of Lyndhurst for over 45 years.
He was a thoracic surgeon at St. John's Hospital in Queens, NY for many years, retiring in 1999. As he got older and experienced some health issues, these three things were still important: Atlantic City slots, fishing, and love for food, especially sweets.
He met his beloved Leticia Zamora Santiago Luna and were married in January 6 1963. Also surviving Jorge are their daughters, Jocelyn Fay & her husband, Frank and Joanne Surowiec & her husband, Tom, by his grandchildren, Frankie, Daniel, and Mari Fay and Luke and Alyssa Surowiec, and his sisters, Felicidad Rosas and Blanquita Jacinto.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 3 - 7 PM. All will gather at the funeral home on Saturday, January 28 at 9 AM then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10 AM a funeral mass will be offered.
